A. G. Rizzoli’s art is the sort of discovery curators usually only dream of: an unheard-of artist, a tantalizing clue that becomes a quest, and a trove of work poorly stored in a distant relative’s garage but brilliant nonetheless.
Rizzoli spent decades as a draftsman at a San Francisco architecture firm and in his spare time drew remarkably elaborate imaginary structures, wrote short stories, and even made up his own language. Particularly devoted to his mother, he created a drawing annually for her birthday, representing her architecturally as a grand cathedral. At the height of the series is Mother Symbolically Recaptured / The Kathredal, drawn in tribute after her death.
Thoughtfully conceived and engagingly intricate, our 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles combine superb color reproduction, stunning and unusual images, and sturdy construction to delight generations of novice and veteran puzzleworkers.
