Outback Australia, 1998
Australia’s backcountry, with its clear skies, desert landscapes, and watering holes teeming with flora and fauna, is a favorite subject for artist Angela Newberry. In Outback Australia you can almost hear the birds’ wingbeats and smell the sun-baked sand and rock formations. Evocation of place is of prime importance to Newberry, who trained at the Royal College of Art and has studios in England and Australia.
Newberry’s work is in numerous private and public collections, among them the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, and in London, the Royal Veterinary College and the Palace of Westminster.
With subjects ranging from fine art, nature, and architecture to humor, the metaphysical, and more, Pomegranate’s interlocking jigsaw puzzles combine stunning images, superb color reproduction, and sturdy construction to delight generations of novice and veteran puzzle solvers alike.
